Axonvale Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy is provided in English as the authoritative version.
Axonvale focuses on system engineering and software. We build distributed systems, desktop software, websites, and browser extensions. This policy describes how our products handle data, what we do not collect, and the choices available to you.
1. Our data principles
- Local-first by design. Product settings, preferences, and credentials stay on your device unless a feature you initiate explicitly requires otherwise.
- No data selling. We do not sell user data, and we do not use it for advertising.
- No hidden collection. We do not operate first-party data-collection servers behind our products.
- User-initiated transmission only. Where a product communicates with a third-party service, it does so only when you trigger the action, using your own account and credentials.
2. Scope
This policy applies to software published by Axonvale, including:
- Distributed control system products deployed by enterprise customers
- Desktop applications and background services
- Websites and web properties operated by Axonvale
- Browser extensions
When an organization deploys an enterprise product under its own infrastructure, that organization is the data controller for its environment, and its own policies and agreements govern the deployment.
3. Data stored on your device
Depending on the product, the following may be stored locally in your browser or on your machine:
- User-entered API keys and account credentials
- Product preferences, language and model selections, concurrency settings
- User-defined site blacklist or policy rules
- Session and task state required for the product's core function
- Temporary in-memory caches for performance during a session
This data stays in your profile or machine. You can clear it by removing the product, clearing product data, or uninstalling. Enterprise deployments may additionally centralize configuration through their own control plane.
4. Data transmitted over the network
Axonvale products do not send your data to Axonvale-operated servers as part of normal operation. When you use a feature that requires an external service, your content is transmitted to the service you configured, using your credentials:
- Enterprise products may exchange control and status data between nodes in a deployment you operate, over encrypted channels.
Data processed by third-party providers is governed by those providers' own terms and privacy policies.
5. Permissions
Our products request only the permissions needed for their stated features, and we keep permission surfaces minimal. Browser extensions, for example, declare permissions explicitly and never execute remote code. Permission justifications are disclosed per product in each store listing. Desktop and enterprise products run only the code you install.
6. Security
- Network communication is encrypted in transit using standard protocols.
- Credentials are stored locally and never logged in plain text.
- Enterprise deployments support private networking and encrypted control and data planes.
- We follow secure development practices, including code review and minimal attack surfaces.
7. Children
Axonvale products are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Do not use a product if you are not permitted to do so under applicable law.
8. Your rights
Because our products are local-first and do not rely on Axonvale-operated accounts, you generally control your data directly. You may:
- Review and edit settings and stored configuration at any time
- Delete locally stored data by clearing product data or uninstalling
- Choose which third-party services, if any, your data is sent to
If you have questions or requests regarding your data, contact us at support@axonvale.com and we will respond promptly.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our products or data practices change. The "Last updated" date above is revised accordingly. Material changes will be reflected here.
